Ground Source Heat Pumps

A ground source heat pump unit uses the natural energy stored in the earth to heat your home.

Our Greenstore ground source heat pumps are suitable for a variety of properties and are designed to be the sole source of heating and hot water in the home. System heat pumps require a separate cylinder and can also be used with solar water heating. Combi heat pumps have an integrated cylinder.

For every single kilowatt of electricity used to power the ground source heat pumps, this system could generate four kilowatts or more in energy for your home.

Planning permission
Greenstore ground source heat pumps are certified by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme and planning permission for them has been eased significantly

Combi Pumps

Green Store 6 Combi:

The Greenstore 6 Combi ground source heat pump can help to save space in your property because it contains an intergrated cylinder.

Ground collectors buried within your land collect stored solar energy there and transfer it to the combi heat pump. The ground source heat pump then uses this energy to deliver heating and hot water to your home's system.

The kilowatt output you need from the ground source heat pump depends on the heat load of your property.

Efficiency
The Greenstore 6 Combi has a coefficient of performance (COP) of 3.8. The CoP is a simple calculation which works out how much energy the heat pump is able to extract from the energy source compared to the amount of electrical energy used by the heat pump.

Air Source Heat Pumps

Our range of air source heat pumps offers a choice of two systems: air to air or air to water, both offering significant savings compared with a conventional heating system.

The air source heat pumps convert the free and sustainable latent energy in the air into heat, delivering green, low-cost, energy-saving heating and hot water all year round.

Air to Water Heat Pumps

Greensource air source heat pumps are intended to be the sole source of heating and hot water production for the home.

Air to water heat pumps use the constant energy available in the air with a refrigerant circuit which allows the temperature to be boosted to a useful level for heating or hot water for the home.

Greensource air to water heat pumps are Microgeneration Certification Scheme approved.

Greensource Air to Water Heat Pump 7kW:

The Greensource 7kW air to water heat pump converts latent energy in the air - even on the coldest days - into heat for your home.

The air source heat pump system comprises an outdoor and indoor unit. The outdoor unit extracts the energy in air outside the property. This energy is absorbed by a refrigerant solution which is compressed to a higher temperature. The indoor unit then uses the heat generated by the outdoor unit to create hot water for a traditional pressurised heating and hot water system.

Installation of these heat pumps is relatively simple and they are suitable for a wide range of property types.

Planning permission
Currently, your local authority must be consulted regarding planning permission for air source heat pumps. More information is available on the Energy Saving Trust's website.

COP 3.4The Greensource Air to Water Heat Pump 7kW has a coefficient of performance (COP) of 3.4. The CoP is a simple calculation which works out how much energy the heat pump is able to extract from the energy source compared to the amount of electrical energy used by the heat pump.

Greensource Air to Water Heat Pump 9.5kW:

The Greensource 9.5kW air to water heat pump converts latent energy in the air - even on the coldest days - into heat for your home.

The air source heat pump system comprises an outdoor and indoor unit. The outdoor unit extracts the energy in air outside the property. This energy is absorbed by a refrigerant solution which is compressed to a higher temperature.
